Here we are in another December and approaching the year 2020! As a kid in the 90s who spent many years of my childhood growing up in Malaysia, those TV ads for "Vision 2020" (Wawasan 2020) still run through my head, at age 35 now, when I think of this approaching year. Ah, the impressionable mind of a child - those are the impressions of life that have stuck with me and carried me forward. Years later, both Malaysia and I would realize one of the mottoes I have come to live by: "Change is hard, life is real." - although I don't think either Malaysia or I have done too badly for ourselves.
Through all these years, here is a quick list of some of the major lessons I have learned and mottoes I live by, applicable to starting and running your own business, and, well, just about any aspect of your life, really: - It really is possible for the turtle to win the race; in fact, it happens more often than many people would care to really look around themselves and observe. People who stick with it for the long run will always be light years ahead of their peers who never even start. - Along the same vein as the above: "The true value of anything is the amount of life you have to give in exchange for it." (I can't really claim this as an original quote - I read it on a T-shirt in the Shanghai metro in the Summer of 2017.) - "The most powerful thing you can ever change is your own Mind." (original quote and "personal motto"; inspired by Lee Iacocca) - "Change is hard, life is real." (original quote - on toughing it through the toughest years of my early 30s) Better life, better business, better you, -Andreas Owner and operator of Biz Opp Empire

Gone are the days when we are obliged to work 9-to-5 jobs and be contented with the little we have. The times have changed, and with it, our standard of living. Thanks to globalization and the internet, we now have unlimited earning potential and have the freedom to pursue what we really want without having to waste our lives away. Don’t have enough money for university? It’s no big deal these days with the amount of online resources! It’s so easy to educate yourself and apply those skills into your current situation. That’s what entrepreneurship is about. Here are some of the best things why you should lead the life of an entrepreneur. Be your own boss: One of the best things about being an entrepreneur is that you become your own boss. You don’t have to submit to someone who’s higher in rank with you because you are that guy. You have free reign on what to do without worrying if you’re going to get a penalty or not. However, you need to practice self-discipline because what you do still comes back to you. Because after all, you are the business owner and the highest in rank, right? Unlimited income potential: Another cool thing about entrepreneurship is that you have unlimited earning potential. There’s no salary cap because you can earn as much as you want. Compare that to the downright depressing fact of employees that have to wait for years to get a minuscule pay raise. Work as much as you can, and you’d earn as much as you want. It’s as simple as that. Full control on your time:
Work when you want and where you want is another benefit of being an entrepreneur. You don’t have to exhaust yourself in completing your work because you don’t have to answer to anyone except for yourself. You can even just work on your sleepwear, play some music on, or have some friends come over without having to worry about getting a memo from the HR department. You become free to work on other more important matters that’ll bring you more bucks. Endless opportunities in learning: Entrepreneurs are a jack-of-all-trades because they function as many departments. You become the marketer, photographer, accountant, customer service representative, and sales agent. Because of this, you get to learn many things and you are able to widen your range of expertise. It forces you to learn for the better. That’s what entrepreneurship is about. It enriches you as a complete human being, and in the process, boosts your financial net worth. Get a sense of fulfillment: Entrepreneurship is about creating a vision and starting something to realize your dreams through your business. It’s not all about earning a profit, but it’s about contributing something positive to the community through your products and services and earning money from it. You get the joy in learning that your offerings have helped your customers. Nurture your business and let it grow. When you do, then you’ll surely have a deep sense of accomplishment, and of course, pride in your part. This motivates you to continue what you’ve started, and bring your business to higher heights. Confidence booster: Entrepreneurship isn’t for everyone. It’s for the people who are brave enough to take risks, both financial and physically because you sort of gamble your finances in the hopes of increasing it. Investment is hard, especially if the market is already competitive. But becoming a successful entrepreneur will surely boost your confidence once you make it. You’ll then know deep within yourself that you have the capability to overcome whatever financial problem or issue you might face in the future. Share your experiences and learning: Another great thing about being an entrepreneur is that you experience career growth and fulfillment because you directly affect the lives of the people around you through your business’ offerings. You can also become a mentor to others and provide inspiration and motivation to them. This is especially true if you’re mentoring would-be entrepreneurs. You can write a book about your rags-to-riches story, or perhaps start a training program. You can even have your own charity once your business thrives. Sometimes, it’s not all about taking, but it’s also about the giving you do that count. And there’s nothing better than knowing you’ve made a positive mark in this world by becoming an entrepreneur. What do you think of becoming an entrepreneur? Do you find the article inspiring? Or maybe you have some ideas about it that you want to share about. If so, feel free to voice down your thoughts in the comment section below. We would be more than happy to hear from you.
