Who Benefits The Most From This Service?
As with all of my services, professional coaching services are offered to and open to anyone. With that said, my coaching revolves mainly around decision making, particularly career changes, career advancement, and major life decisions (generally involving work/career and another choice - i.e. "Should I take the promotion being offered to me at work, or should I go back to school?" "Should I continue down the path of starting my own business here, or move to another country to take a 'regular' job with a fixed schedule and a salary?" The people I coach most often are educators or those who have found their way to me through an interest or other connection to education and/or coaching. The two major groups of people I work with are educators interesting in getting into part-time freelancing, starting their own side business, leaving the "8-5 school scene" entirely and starting their own full-time business (sometimes educational in nature, sometimes not); as well as non-educators who are interesting in the possibility of getting into education or who have recently "made the leap" into education and are wondering what happens next.
Example: Amanda has been teaching Middle School Science for 17 years and loves her job. Recently she has been thinking she might want to open an e-commerce website that sells educational science kits and supplies, or maybe start freelance tutoring. She is searching for direction on what steps to take next.
Example: Standing Bear has run his own brick-and-mortar skateboard store for 8 years now. He has enjoyed this, but business has been dry the last two years. In these tough times, he has turned his efforts more toward teaching skateboarding classes to interested would-be skaters. Little did he know he would enjoy the act of teaching so much that that now he wants to change careers and get into full-time teaching in a traditional brick-and-mortar school setting. He is searching for direction on what steps to take next.
